Future Skills Forum ‘23 – Panel Discussion

I was a panelist during 2 discussions on the conference

Over three hundred representatives from European institutions, governments, universities, non-governmental organizations, and IT industry leaders from over 10 countries participated in the Intel Future Skills Forum in Gdańsk. They exchanged their experiences and best practices on how to develop digital education, bridge the gap between business sector requirements and educational policy, and identify the essential skills needed to realize Europe’s innovative potential. Projects from Poland served as examples.

The Intel Future Skills Forum 2023 took place on November 28-29 in Gdańsk. Experts from global IT and AI industry giants shared their insights. The guests came from various countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Bulgaria. Winners of the Intel AI Global Impact Festival were also honored during the event.

I took part in panels on the following topics:

1. “Europe on a path to become a global innovation hub” with R&D leaders from Intel Corporation, Ericsson, and Orange. We all agreed that we have the right talent and structures, but innovation demands challenging different mindsets. One of our main messages on the panel? We often view the world through our corporate lenses, and it’s high time to embrace a full spectrum of colorful perspectives – beyond just Orange’s orange, Intel’s blue, Ericsson’s green and IBM’s deep blue . European innovation demands vibrant collaboration, not just between corporations, but also with the academic world. Let’s be “co-creators in innovation and partnership.” And all of us are facing the challenge of greater and faster learning.

2. “The future of education and creating curriculum programs that can agilely respond to market challenges.”

Worth to mention the conference hosted special guests at the forum included Milena Stoycheva, the Minister of Innovation from Bulgaria, Martin Kern, the Director of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), and Cigdem Ertem, the General Director of Education in the Sales and Marketing Department at Intel. Representatives from government administrations, universities, and leading IT companies such as Intel, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft, Orange, Ericsson were also in attendance.
