About me

Minimized simplicity

I love simplicity (even in CV)

I am a graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, where I majored in Computer Science, and I hold a Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA) from the University of Warwick in Birmingham, UK. With nearly 30 years of experience, I have been deeply involved in creating and managing IT projects.

From 1995 to 2007, I worked at the Polish-French company IGE+XAO. During this time, I played key roles as Head of Software Production and Technical Director. My responsibilities centered around technical supervision over the delivery of CAD software for the electrical and aviation industries, focusing particularly on the design and production of wiring harnesses for aviation electrical installations. I was directly in charge of managing the delivery of solutions for designing electrical harnesses for Airbus in the A380 and A350 projects.

Between 2008 and 2010, I served as the Director of Software Development at Apriso Poland, now a part of the Dassault System. There, I was responsible for setting up a software department in Krakow, focusing on the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for production lines in factories, especially in the automotive industry, working with companies like Tesla and also with SpaceX in space technology.

Since 2010, I have been working at IBM, and for the past 8 years, I have been the Director of the Software Laboratory in Krakow. My role involves delivering comprehensive IT solutions and software across various industries, with a special focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data processing (Big Data, Data Science).

Moreover, since my beginning at IBM, I have led projects related to EU funding of new technologies in the Research and Development sector. I actively support, coordinate, and oversee the development of collaborations with higher education institutions, particularly in fields related to artificial intelligence and, more recently, quantum computing technology.

I am the initiator of a unique 5th level professional qualification in quantum computer programming. After gaining approval from the Ministry of Digital Affairs, it has been officially incorporated into the European and Polish Integrated Qualification System and is now certifiable. As a sponsor of this project, I am implementing the program at the First High School (Nowodworek) in Krakow, enabling students to learn programming and understand quantum computers from their first year of high school.

I am actively involved in various communities, both business-oriented and technology-focused. I am a board member of ASPIRE and the leader of the Krakow branch of the Digital Transformation Club in ABSL.

I actively participate in activities of Krakow American Chambers of Commerce community.

Together with Sebastian Drzewiecki and Justyna Mecenseffi, we host a bi-weekly TechTalk Cafe live on LinkedIn.

I am also a member of the Sectoral Council for Competencies (Telecommunications and IT), where I actively support and recommend strategies for the development of Poland’s ICT sector in the education system.

On a personal note, I am passionate about traveling, which not only offers me unique experiences and relaxation but also assists me in effectively preparing for upcoming challenges. In addition, I am an amateur photographer, a drone enthusiast, and a qualified drone pilot in a special category.

What I blog about

My Story

I write a technology blog focused on the latest trends, with a particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing. Additionally, I explore leadership topics, drawing from my experience as a seasoned leader and a long-time senior manager. My aim is to assist young, ambitious, and aspiring managers. I understand their challenges deeply; nobody was there to guide me in my early days, and I had to learn everything through years of self-exploration and perseverance.

Furthermore, my blog delves into statistics and optimizing mathematical algorithms. This is a natural extension of my responsibilities in globally developing SPSS Statistics and the CPLEX Library. My goal is to share insights and knowledge in these areas, hoping to illuminate paths for others that I once had to navigate alone. My writing style is light yet professional, ensuring that the content is accessible, informative, and highly relevant to those eager to advance in the fields of technology and management.
